Design Projects

 

Project 1: Design of a precision gain stage. Due Thursday, Nov 15, 2012.

 

Project 2: Design of a 10-bit pipelined ADC. Due Thursday, Dec 14 Tuesday, Dec 18, 2012. (Note: There’s one month of time to work on this project)

 

Project Help:

·        Matlab code for plotting ADC spectrum using data from Spectre and calculating ENOB. Modify accordingly.

o       Information on linking Matlab and Spectre in Linux environment is here.

o       Use coherent sampling, and Hann window (nb=3) to reduce spectrum leakage of quantization noise.

·        Verilog-A model of a comparator

·        Calculating FFT in Spectre and plotting with prettyfft in Matlab.

·        Maxim site with Matlab code for code-density test for INL and DNL plots.

·        Example Matlab Code for behavioral simulation of a 10-bit pipelined ADC
