We are still trying to get a room for the first workshop (today from 6 to 7 pm). Unfortunatelly the room that we booked originally is being used for a class (even if it is not in the official calendar). We will let you know the location as soon as the registrar office assigns a room. Sorry about that

Message to teachers:
Dear Dr X
We would like to request your help to engage students in CIS106 to participate in a pilot workshop and contest of educational videos on introductory computer science (CS) topics. Through this workshop we will enable freshman student teams to creatively design, role-play, and shoot short videos (5 min. each) that bring down to earth abstract concepts of CS and tie them up with fun and insightful real-life situations.
The CISters organization at UD submitted a proposal to NCWIT and got a $750 grant to conduct this activity. We need your help to engage students and present the idea in class, we also need to know when are the midterms and major projects scheduled, so that the workshop don't overlap with them. We need only about 15 minutes at the end of the class to present the idea and and the basis of the contest.
If you would like to know more about this project we attached the proposal. Please let us know if you can help us and if so, tentative dates for us to speak to your class.
