During this session, two major points were discussed:
Monthly lunches
- Every member should bring another woman (or men committed to the development of women in CS)
- We should meet during the week, not only fridays because they are problematic for most people
- Suggested time included: Thursday evening preferably, or some other evening
Things that help undergrads
- Session on course selection just before the pre-registration period
- Proactively contact new students (declared/undeclared) CS major
- Make study groups beyond introductory classes.
- A possibility includes hiring tutors
- Get senior students trained by CTE
- A list of activities that faculty perceive that should be done outside the classroom
- Activities to complement the curricula and provide experience and a sense of community to undergrad (also more comitment)
- A hands on competition, for example for CPEG 202
Wiki
- Have a private section on the wiki to keep trak of the documents
- get the access to the google calendar of CISters
- Change the logo and make it available for its inclusion in documents
- Add a section to explain different cisters activities, to make an easy transition
- How to set up a pizza party
- How to coordinate a lunch
- How to corrdinate a review session
- How to administrate all other activities related to cisters
