iOS 4.*& iOS 5 RADIUS CLIENT CONFIGURATION
Setting up an iPhone, iPod, or iPad client to get access to the network:
Installing the Wireless Configuration on your iOS Device
1. Open Safari on your iOS device and go to http://www.eecis.udel.edu/ios-config.
2. After the page loads, enter your username and password in each of the appropriate fields to access each of the Wi-Fi network settings that are being installed.
- After you have entered this information touch 'Submit' (or 'Go' if still in text-input mode).
- This will initiate a download of the
acad-wifi.mobileconfig which specifies information needed to connect to the ACAD / ECECIS-RES wireless networks.
- Note: Your username and password are configured to this file, and therefore when you connect to the network your device will already have the information needed to connect to the network. You will not be prompted again for a username / password.
3. After the download finishes, you will notice that Safari is moved to the background and your Device Preferences will be moved to the front.
- You should see a screen similar to the following, touch 'Install' to proceed.
- If prompted by the following dialogue, touch 'Install Now' to continue.
- You should now see a screen similar to the following, touch 'Install' to finish the installation.
- Note: This warning screen is depreciated in iOS 5.
4. When the installation has finished, you will be presented with the following screen:
- If prompted by the following dialogue, touch 'Install Now' to continue.
- Notice that the top navigation bar says "Profile Installed" - this verifies the installation was successful
Connect to the network
1. Navigate to the 'Wifi' tab (under the 'Settings' App).
- Select the 'acad' or 'ececis-res' network to connect.
- You should now see a screen similar to the following, this signifies that you have successfully connected to the network.
Un/Re-installing the Wireless Configuration File
1. If you need to uninstall the Wireless Configuration Profile, you will need to select the profile and manually uninstall it.
- In order to re-install the profile, just follow the 'Installing the Wireless Configuration on your iOS Device' procedure from Step 1.
- To uninstall, open your 'Settings' App and navigate to 'General' and select 'Profile'.
- If you have more than one profile, make sure to navigate to the ECECIS Wireless Configuration profile.
2. You will be taken to the ECECIS 'Profile' window. Touch 'Remove' to uninstall the profile.
3. You will be prompted with a dialog regarding the removal of the profile. Touch 'Remove' to completely uninstall the profile.
- Note: Only do this if you don't plan on connecting to the ACAD / ECECIS-RES wireless network. You need this profile to connect!
4. You have now removed the wireless configuration profile.
- If you need to connect to the ACAD / ECECIS-RES wireless network in the future you will need to re-install this profile.
