Mac OS X Leopard RADIUS CLIENT CONFIGURATION

Setting up a Leopard client get access to the network:

  • Click on the wireless icon.
  • Select Open Network Preferences.
  • Select Advanced on the AirPort tab, the 802.1X tab. Select User from the Domain: dropdown box. (note: in Mac OS X 10.5.3, the User domain is selected when you click the + button) Fill out your username, password, and the network name is acad.
  • Uncheck everything other than TTLS.
  • If you are using Snow Leopard, set the Security Type drop-menu to 802.1X WEP.
  • Click on TTLS and click on Configure
  • Select PAP as TTLS Inner Authentication:
  • Click OK then OK again. Try to connect.
  • During authentication you will likely be prompted to accept the certificate for the server. Click on Accept All.
  • Open Firefox or Safari and see if you can access the internet. Use the Help Request System if you have trouble.
  • Also, to avoid the message of an untrusted certificate and clicking in continue, you can make the certificate trusted.

To do so, go to the Keychain access, click on certificates open the EECIS Staff certificate (once you have it, it downloads it the first time it connects to the network). Then click on "trust" and then select "Always trust" "When using this certificate"
