ANDROID 802.1x ACAD WIFI CONFIGURATION

The installation is as follows and does NOT require root priveliges.

Configuration with Wifi Advanced Config Editor

You will require Wifi Advanced Config Editor, which can be downloaded from the Android App Store.

  • The server certificate has to be downloaded to your phone's SD card, and can be downloaded here.
  1. Navigate to: Settings --> Location & Security
    1. Enable Use secure credentials. (If not previously enabled, it will ask you to set a password)
    2. Choose Install from SD Card and select the certificate you downloaded.
  2. Navigate to: Settings --> Wireless & Networks --> Wi-Fi Settings
  3. Scroll to the bottom and choose Add Wi-Fi network
  4. Configure with the following settings:
    • Network SSID: acad
    • Security: 802.1x EAP
    • EAP Method: TTLS
    • Phase 2 authentication: PAP
    • CA Certificate: acad-wifi (or the name you used for the certificate above)
    • User Certificate: (unspecified)
    • Identity: your ECE/CIS username
    • Anonymous identity: anonymous
    • Password: your ECE/CIS password
  5. Open the Wifi Advanced Config Editor App
  6. Select the acad network you just configured.
  7. Select Key Management
  8. Uncheck WPA_EAP
  9. Exit the app.
  10. Disable and re-enable Wi-Fi in Settings --> Wireless & Networks.
  • Your phone should automatically connect when acad is in range, and Wi-Fi is enabled.
