Seyedmohammad Salehi

I am a Post Doctroal Researcher at the Computer and Information Sciences (CIS) Department of the University of Delaware. I work with Professors Chien-Chung Shen and Leonard Cimini on designing efficient architectures, access mechansims and Medium Access Control (MAC) protocols for different types of Wireless networks. In particular, I work on half-duplex and full-duplex MAC protocols for terrestrial and underwater acoustic networks, multi-class scheduling mechanisms for Wi-Fi 6 and 7, and enabling virtual reality applications over the Wi-Fi.

Projects

Full-Duplex MAC Protocols

This project introduces better access mechanisms to activate proper full-duplex mode of operation in terretrial and underwater acoustic sensor networks.

Uplink Scheduling Framework for IEEE 802.11ax

In this project, we introduce a learning mechanism by which the AP can satisfy delay requirements of different traffic classes. We further develop a channel- and QoS-aware scheduling mechanism for Wi-Fi 6.

Hybrid RF-Acoustic architecture for AUV operations

Due to low data-rates and long propagation delays in acoustic sensor networks, we propose a hybrid RF-Acoustic architecture whereby autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) can communicate more efficiently.

VR traffic characterization

In this project, we collect traffic of multiple VR applications over Wi-Fi. The AP is capable of video rendering (Edge node).
