The paper stays dry
1. Stuff some crumpled paper into a glass. Make sure that the paper won't fall when you turn the glass upside down.
2. Fill a bowl with water so that the height of water is more than that of the glass.
3. Turn the glass upside down and immerse the glass inside the water in the bowl.
4. Without tilting the glass, take it out of water.
The paper should remain dry.
Explanation: This is similar to the previous activity
(water staying in the funnel). As the water tries to get into the
glass, it compresses the air. Air pressure builds up sufficiently to
keep the water out.
