Course Description

Approaches to information gathering, filtering, and integration including work in the heterogeneous database, information retrieval, and agent-oriented communities. Text indexing, vector-based and probabilistic retrieval, semantic web technologies, wrappers and mediators, query planning and optimization, collaborative filtering, information agents, applications.
