Education and Research Interests

Dr. Chengmo Yang received the Ph.D. and M.Sc. degrees in Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego and the B.Sc. degree in Microelectronics from Peking University, Bejing, China.

Her research interests lie in the broad areas of embedded systems, design automation, and computer architecture, with a particular focus on improving security, reliability, performance, and energy efficiency of embedded systems, cyber physical systems, and Internet-of-Things.

Career Highlights

  • Won the NSF CAREER award upon first attempt.

  • Received ten grants with a total amount of $4.16M.

  • Received two best paper awards, in addition to four best paper nominations.

  • Published 100 papers in IEEE/ACM transactions, journals or peer-reviewed conferences.

  • Supervising/supervised 11 PhD students and 11 MSc students who together have won 25 awards.

  • Mentored 48 undergraduate students for various research projects.

  • Organized the annual robot race competition six times for ECE undergraduate students.
