This course surveys issues in Internet traffic analysis and management, including service quality, congestion control, admission policies, traffic shaping and deadline scheduling. Designs based on packet buckets, fair queueing, differentiated service, admission reservation, chromographic discard, early detection and binary marking will be considered. Readings and reference material will be drawn from the literature and Internet Engineering archival reports.
