Following a slight drop between the year 1996 and the year 1997, the graphic shows an increasing trend in the mean dollar value of rising jury awards over the period from the year 1997 to the year 2002. 
The mean dollar value of rising jury awards range from 540000 to 1320000 dollars. 
With the exception of a larger rise of about 420000 dollars between the year 2000 and the year 2001, slight increases are observed every year.
