The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering has launched a joint Master degree program with several Colombian institutions.
The aim of the agreement is to provide qualified students a joint graduate education program so that upon completion, they can simultaneously receive a Master (MS) Degree from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UD and from the following departments in Colombia
Universidad Industrial de Santander
Escuela de Ingeniería de Sistemas e Informática
Escuela de Ingenierías Eléctrica, Electrónica y Telecomunicaciones
Pontificia Universidad Javeriana
- Departamento de Ingeniería Electrónica
There are two modalities of this program:
Modality 1, MS Thesis completed at UD: The students are expected to complete their first two academic periods in Colombia, and the remaining studies at UD (a minimum of two academic periods) in the Master Program in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Modality 2, MS Thesis completed in Colombia: The students are expected to complete their first two academic periods at UD in the Master’s Degree Program in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and the remaining studies in Colombia.
For both modalities, the coursework requirements for completing the Dual Master Grade will be those of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UD: two (2) ECE foundation courses (3 credits each one) and six (6) ECE advanced technical courses (including at least one 800 level ECE course).
In addition to the coursework, the students must develop a thesis work (Master Thesis) that must be approved by a research advisor and Department chairperson in both universities.
