Welcome to the CIS Undergrad Committee Curriculum Wiki

The major purpose of this wiki is to catalog the course topics for our required courses, that is, what do we expect students to have learned/be able to do after completing the course. This is the basis for choosing what course is the correct pre-requisite, and for developing a specific syllabus instance for a course.

Rather than simply use unrestricted natural language to describe course objectives, we'd like to use the ontology developed for the ACM/IEEE Computer Science Body of Knowledge (PDF HTML). This can be augmented with arbitrary description as needed. Note that the CS-BOK has both "Core" topics and "Elective" topics: we want to record ALL topics for each course that MUST be covered by anyone teaching the course at UD. We need a good record of what we at UD view as required for the course regardless of what the ACM/IEEE thinks is "core/elective". It is OK to also list "UD-optional" topics, but you must make it clear that no course upstream can depend on that being taught.

Other course related info may also be stored here, as we decide it is useful or necessary.
