Investigated nonnegative matrix factorization and low-rank matrix approximation algorithms for consumer information feature extraction and clustering, image/video restoration and segmentation.
Implemented dictionary learning algorithms in C++ and MATLAB to improve imaging quality of millimeter optical systems with very-low SNR.
Developed a robust kernel sparse coding algorithm in MATLAB for gesture recognition, gait analysis and time series classification.
Achieved state-of-the-art results over 20+ large-scale time-series benchmark datasets, including audio signals, ECG waveforms, DNA sequences, etc.
Developed an HCI system with C++ for real-time (~60fps) 3D point cloud (faces, gesture) acquisition and recognition.
Developed algorithms for image segmentation, text detection and graphic classification.
Proposed content-based image understanding algorithms to retrieve semantic data from graphics.
