Teaching interests include Computer Science 101, an introduction to basic computer concepts. This course teaches students practical knowledge about the many computer concepts students use daily.

I am also teaching Computer Science 103, an introduction to web development using computer science. In this course we cover html, css, javascript, and the computer concepts making web development possible

My research interests involve using technology to help people with varying abilities. Currently I am working on a device that skims documents for answers to questions for individuals who are blind, low vision, dyslexic, or have trouble reading visually. The goal is to give nonvisual readers information similar to what sighted individuals get when skimming through documents

In addition, I have worked on developing synthetic speech for people who are losing their voice due to degenerative diseases such as ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). We hope to capture their voice before they lose it, then create a synthetic version of their own voice so they can continue to use their own voice to communicate.
