| Tuncay Saydam as Painter |
|
Over the past 44 years, Tuncay Saydam has been looking at paintings in art museums and galleries of the world, reading and writing critism about them, and, along with his scientific pursuits, has been developing an intense eye and love of art. Two years after his Faces of The Soul exibition, Saydam is now showing us his recent oil paintings under the title of Colors of The Soul. In his contemporary interpretation of color, he is painting, questioning, interpreting but never resolving such issues as, "color is the shape of form", "the energy, texture and symbiotic relationships of colors, reflects the dynamics of the painters soul", "indescribability of painting and soul", "the archetypal structures of the subconscious are volcanoes producing color and shape" and "approaching art through personal sensibility provides richer and deeper enjoyment of art than efforts to understand it". With these paintings, Tuncay Saydam shares with us not only his world of colors, but even more relevant, the rich sources of the energies, controversies, conflicts and loneliness of sensibilities of his complex soul. |
