• This will be the programming environment
  • Hardware (one per team): Xterm or PC running X windows or telnet sessions to a Sun Sparc server.
  • Opsys: Sun Microsystems Inc. SunOS 5.5 (Solaris)
  • Compilers:
    • pc: SC3.0.1 13 Jul 1994 (programmers must use Standard Pascal)
    • g++,gcc
  • Debugger: dbx, gdb
  • Editors: vi, emacs, pine (pico)
  • Unix basics: ls, cp, lpr, etc.
  • Contest commands: register, judge, question

  • Forbidden:

    Code construction tools (lex, yacc, scheme-to-c, etc.) Calls to libraries that require explicit mention on the compile command line (except that the judges will put "-lm" on the compile command line).

  • Allowed:

    #include and use of automatically loaded standard library functions.
