Use Case: Time multiple program segments
Actor(s): software designer
Purpose: measure elapsed time of several program units
Description:

Designer inserts timer calls at top and bottom of each program unit to be measured. She also inserts code at or near end to specify display of the time used.

Designer then runs code and obtains user time display. Depending on design she either puts display options in code or controls display from a gui interface after the fact. For example she may want segments sorted by run time, by name, by order in which they were run. She may or may not want a sum or average of the times.

Alternate courses:

1. Her units are syntactically the body of a loop, so there will be one start and one stop call syntactically, though they will be called multiple timers. This may influence design.
