grid and scale factors

 

Parameters related to selecting the grid and scale factors and printing and editing your designs

In the File menu, select "Choose printer". Select PostScript printer.

 

When printing, make sure to set scaling to "40 pixels=353 Internal units".

To set this, select Page Setup from the File menu, and select Scaling: Fixed (not automatic)

To set the grey levels when printing out a design, select Page Setup from the File menu. You can play around with the levels of whiteness to see how the

printouts would look. Use ghostview to display the postscript files.

 

In the Setup menu, select "Technology". Select "Millimeters". Make sure to set the following "1 internal unit=1/1000 millimeters". This will set the internal

units L-Edit uses to 1 micron.

 

In the Setup menu, select "Grid". Enter the following parameters:

Displayed grid: 20 internal units

Suppress Grid Less Than 8 Pixels

Mouse Snap Grid: 5 Internal Units

Cursor Type: Select "Snapping"

One Locator Unit: 1 Internal Unit

These settings will enable you to draw features whose size is a multiple of 5 microns.
