ELEG 646; ELEG 446 - Nanoelectronic Device PrinciplesSpring 2007

Homework #8 - due Tuesday, 17 April 2007, in class

1.  Problem 4.10 (c) and (d) only, in chapter 4, Muller & Kamins, p. 224 in 3rd edition. (Hint: treat the Pt metal region as if it were a very heavily doped p-type semiconductor region, but with the Fermi level determined by its work function.

2.  Problem 3.12 (a) only, in chapter 3, Muller & Kamins, p.173 in 3rd edition.

3.  Problem 5.18 part (a) only, in chapter 5, Muller & Kamins, p.276 in 3rd edition.

4.  Problem 5.22 in chapter 5, Muller & Kamins, p.277 in 3rd edition. Compare the 2 processes with a simple numerical estimate (i.e. one line of equations each).

5.  Problem 5.23 in chapter 5, Muller & Kamins, p.277 in 3rd edition.
