  • Honor Degree Distinction of the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana in Electronics Engineering, 1995.
  • Granted to the student graduating with the highest overall GPA in the school of Electronics Engineering.

  • Honor Scholarship of the Graduate Program in Statistics at Universidad Nacional de Colombia, 1993.
  • First place in the Universidad Nacional de Colombia Mathematical Olympiads-Advanced Category, 1989.
  • Three Honor Roll Scholarships at Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana
  • Granted to the student with the highest GPA in the School of Electronics Engineering during one academic semester (1986-87.)

  • First place in the VI Colombian Mathematical Olympiads, 1986.
  • Approximately 10,000 high-school and university freshman students from all over the Country took part in this competition through two qualifying rounds and a two-day final in Bogota, Colombia.

  • ASHME Honor Roll International Medal, 1986.
  • Granted to the person with the highest score of Colombia in the International ASHME Mathematics Examinations. (Approx. 1/10,000).

  • Member of the Colombian team in the International Mathematical Olympiads in Poland (1986) and in Finland (1985)
  • Bronze Medal in the I Iberoamerican Mathematical Olympiads, Colombia, 1985
  • Ten different Countries from Latin America and Spain took part in this competition.

  • Third place in the I Colombian Physics Olympiads, 1985.
  • Third place in the V Colombian Mathematical Olympiads, 1985.
  • Andres Bello Prize, 1985.
  • Granted by the Colombian Ministry of Education to the persons with the top 0.01% scores in the Colombian Integral High School Examinations.
