CDMA multiuser communications.

Introduced novel nonlinear receivers for
efficient communications under thunderstorm noise.

Established a theory of robust signal processing
which attracted two government grants and served
as the basis of 3 doctoral dissertations and 3
master's theses at the University of Delaware.

Prepared and wrote, in association with two
faculty members, a successful research grant
proposal awarded with more than $300,000 by NSF.

Designed and led several research projects on
communications and signal processing. Project
contribution included initial concept, system
specification and student co-supervision.
TELECOMMUNICATIONS ENGINEER,

Colombia, 1990 - 1993
- Responsible for traffic-related planning and
design aspects of the company's 700,000+ suscribers
network.
- Designed channel and routing policies that
directly influenced project investments of over
$1,000,000.
- Performed cost-benefit studies and economic-
technological recommendations involving issues on
SS7, ISDN, digital switching and transmission.
- Designed and developed a testing system for the
company's public payphones (software and hardware).
Led a team of four technicians that successfully
implemented the final prototype.

- Designed and taught three different senior
