Education

SEP 2009 - PRESENT

PhD Candidate, Wireless Communications

Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering
University of Delaware, Newark, United States

I am currently pursuing my PhD degree under the supervision of Professor Leonard J. Cimini, Jr and Professor Kenneth E. Barner. My research interests are in overhead-performance tradeoff in cooperative networks, optimization and distributed algorithms.

SEP 2004 - JUN 2007

Master of Science, Computational Mathematics

Department of Mathematics and Econometrics
Hunan University, Changsha, China

I graduated from Hunan University in 2007, under the supervision of Professor Jinping Zeng. By using the special Schwarz method based on the domain decomposition method and multi-grid method, I established the convergence theory of the two-level additive Schwarz method and constructed the new distributed algorithm for a nonlinear obstacle problem.

SEP 2000 - JUN 2004

Bachelor of Science, Applied Mathematics

Department of Mathematics and Econometrics
Hunan University, Changsha, China

Experiences

SEP 2009 - PRESENT

Research Assistant

University of Delaware, Newark, United States
  • Characterized the overhead-performance tradeoff for a virtual MIMO system. Provided analytical results and asymptotic properties.
  • Analyzed the required overhead to guarantee good performance in a selective OFDMA relaying system.
  • Implemented distributed cooperative networks by utilizing limited and local network information.
  • Investigated the optimal transmission strategy for realistic networks.
JUN 2012 - SEP 2012

Internship

Broadcom Corp., Sunnyvale, United States
  • Implemented power saving carrier detection feature for OFDM receiver in the newest Wi-fi (802.11ac) chip.
  • Development and testing for 802.11 wireless transmission: write and debug code using C/C++ and Python.
  • Designed and improved simulation tools (developed by Perl) for better user experience.

FEB 2012 - JUN 2012

Teaching Assistant

University of Delaware, Newark, United States

TA for ELEG305: "Signals and Systems" in University of Delaware.

SEP 2004 - JUN 2007

Teaching Assistant

Hunan University, Changsha, China

TA for the course "College Mathematics" in Hunan University. Prepared and led discussion sessions on these topics. Gave advice and graded assignments and projects for twleve classes of around 360 students.

JUN 2006 - AUG 2006

Part-Time Software Programmer

Hunan University, Changsha, China

Provided kernel codes for efficient data input and output for an examination management system (EMS). Designed a human-computer interaction interface for EMS. Also provided assistance for the construction of database optimum storage.
