In the beginning there was me! Well, not quite THE beginning, but a beginning. How about we skip ahead 9 months. We all probably don't need to go over the egg and the sperm story again. If you do then go talk to your parents, teachers or friends.
I was born in Port Arthur Texas on the thirteenth of March in the 1975th year AD (Abnormal Dawn?) to my parents Tom and Janie. I arrived into this world at 5:45 in the morning. I'm sure that I wasn't too happy being woken up that early. My mom gives a different story saying it was me who woke her up. I don't believe her since I was just an innocent baby then and a baby would never wake his or her parents up at unusual hours.
Some of my first memories that I have are living in Orange Texas. That is not surprising since that's where I spent the first 4 years of my life. Too bad I don't remember much of it. I do remember the large ant hills that I use to jump on, and I also remember running home crying as my feet were being attacked by fire ants. For some odd reason, I still loved kicking those ant hills.
I also have very fond memories of my Lady. No, she was a dog silly. She had puppies one year when we still lived in Texas. I remember waking up one morning and seeing them. Boy was I confused. I had no idea where they had all come from. I wonder how my parents explained that one to me. ;)
Well, thinking of babies, my parents decided to bless my older sister and I with a baby girl. That made me a middle child with sisters on both ends. I wonder what I did so wrong in a past life. Well, it wasn't that bad. A few months after our newest member of our family arrived, we moved to Delaware.
Dela-Where?
Yes, Delaware. It's on the east coast for those of you who are looking for it on the map as I "speak." Yes, it is a state. Where are the Warner brothers when I need them.
Anyways, back to my story. My family and I moved into a nice farm house in Hockessin Delaware. No, we were not farmers, my parents just like old farm houses. It's a pretty nice location. There use to be a barn just outside of our property, a large corn field behind our house and a large field across the street. But, as all things change, the world around our house did too. Now there is a school practically in our back yard, and a development where there use to be corn. Isn't progress great. <Sigh>
Soon after arriving in Delaware, I attended one of the local kindergarten. I don't remember much of that year I'm afraid. Just little bits and pieces. A year I found myself attending first grade at St. Ann's grade school. I did manage to get out of grade school alive.
After graduating from St. Ann's, I went to Salesianum high school. It
was just a few blocks from my old grade school.
My biggest qualm with it was the fact that it was an all boys school.
<Double sigh>
To be continued.
