Formal Language Theory has turned out to be a useful framework for the formulation and investigation of models for DNA Computing. For this reason the basic knowledge of Formal Language Theory can be useful for researchers in the area of DNA Computing.

This tutorial is oriented towards researchers in DNA Computing that do not have a computer science background but would like to know (more) about the fundamentals of Formal Language Theory.

This tutorial is from 1pm-3pm June 15, 1998. Registration is free. Preregistration is best, but you may register when you arrive.

Tutorials are held at the DNA 4 Meeting location: Dunlop Auditorium of Stemmler Hall at 3450 Hamilton Walk at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia PA. Enter via Hamilton Walk off of 36th Street Walk. For more detail, including links to maps and transportation, see Local Information.

The other tutorial on June 15 (3pm-5pm) is the Tutorial on Basic DNA Lab Technology for DNA Computing
