Call for Participation

The three previous meetings exclusively devoted to DNA based computers reflect the dynamic growth of the field as laboratory results have reinforced theoretical designs.

For this 4th international meeting, papers and poster presentations are sought in all areas that relate to computing with DNA including (but not limited to): algorithms, applications, laboratory techniques, architectures, practical difficulties with DNA based computers, proposed solutions to such difficulties, computational processes in vivo, and relevant ideas regarding biological evolution.

We particularly encourage papers and posters reporting experimental results.

Special Journal Issue for Meeting

All submitted papers, unless otherwise requested, will automatically be considered for inclusion in a special issue of the journal BioSystems devoted to this meeting, using the journals normal reviewing process. Lila Kari, Harvey Rubin, and David Harlan Wood will be guest editors of this issue, which will be scheduled to appear in January 1999.

Instructions for Authors

  • Each paper should begin with a separate title page indicating one email address for all correspondence relating to the submission.
  • Each paper should contain a one-page abstract stating the main results and their importance.
  • Authors planning papers of more than 11 pages (11 point type, single spaced, with 1" margins) should first consult with the Program Chair, lila@csd.uwo.ca.
  • For poster presentations, submit an abstract of no more than two pages.
  • The preferred format for a submission is a PostScript file emailed to dna4-sub@csd.uwo.ca. Alternatively, submit 7 physical copies to DNA4 Submission, Department of Computer Science, University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario, Canada N6A 5B7.
  • Deadline for receipt of papers and posters: May 6, 1997.
  • Authors will be informed of acceptance or otherwise by May 14, 1997.
    DEADLINE EXTENDED: YOU MAY SUBMIT UP TO MAY 13, 1998. NOTIFICATION BY MAY 21, 1998.
  • Final versions received by May 29, 1997 will be incorporated in meeting proceedings distributed on site.
  • Revised versions of meeting papers may be resubmitted for the special issue of BioSystems up to August 4, 1998. Journal reviews will be forwarded to authors by September 16, 1998. Final manuscripts are to be received by the editors no later than November 11, 1998.
