I am currently working in the Global Computing Lab lead by professor Michela Taufer. The Global Computing Lab targets large-scale, heterogeneous computer systems and their application to the sciences.
At this moment, I am working on applying MapReduce programming model to scientific applications. MapReduce is a programming model that commonly used in functional programming, Google applied this programming model on web search applications and implemented an associative software framework to support distributed computing on a cluster on large datasets. My work is focusing on applying this programming model on data intensive scientific applications.
