The organizers claim that this will be a "good oppurtunity for your teams to practice". However, please keep in mind that they are also testing their software...
If it turns out that this testing gives us a bad or useless practice contest, then I will have 4-6 problems ready to go, and we'll have a real contest.
Because of the short notice, please keep in mind the following:
To register your school, please just send an email to breech@cis.udel.edu and tell me how many teams you're bringing. I don't have any limit on the number of teams. It shouldn't be a problem...
We'll follow the ACM contest rules. That is, you will be allowed to bring any books/program listings you want. You may not use any electronic device that is not on the computer workstation you're provided. ie, you can't use calculators (including the ones on your watch), disks internet, etc.
We'll be working in a UN*X environment running X windows. Emacs, pico, and vi will be available. If you don't know what those are, use pico. We will only be using C or C++ as programming languages. Java will only be supported for the practice contest with the ACM organizers. If we have to switch to running our own local contest, Java will not be permitted. The C/C++ compilers are gcc/g++.
