Computer Networks

Goals:
  1. Study computer networks as developed in the text. We will pay particular attention to the theory presented in Chapters 1-6.
  2. Study the various layers in the protocol stack.
  3. Study important examples of networking, including Ethernet, the Internet, and wireless networks.
  4. As time permits, we will introduce various Internet applications including ftp, http, email, and streaming multimedia.
  5. As time permits, we will discuss network security issues.
