2. Page 503: 8, (9 optional), 14, 15, 19, 21, 22, 26, 27
3. Discuss the relationship between the bit-rate, cable length, and minimum frame size in a CSMA/CD MAC protocol. Besides giving the formula, provide a detailed explanation (including figures) justifying the formula.
4. Starbucks would like to allow IPhone users to be able to use their IPhones on the Starbucks wireless network. How can the Starbucks access point determine if the end host is an IPhone?
5. (self-learning, ARP, DNS, TCP, and HTTP) Consider the topology shown here. Suppose no frames have been sent in the LAN for a long time so all tables are empty. Now suppose that the host with IP address 10.0.0.1 wants to request a web page from the Google server, where the web page can be contained in a single TCP segment. Detail which packets are sent and what the impact on the various tables for each packet. Use one worksheet for each packet or frame sent. Do this up to the third IP packet sent by the host. (Hint: save the worksheet to disk. Open the worksheet in PowerPoint. As tables are filled, copy the slide for the next packet.)
