Medical CT Image Database for Lung Ground-Glass Opacity Tumor

People: Xiaoyan Xiang and Chandra Kambhamettu

Although the ground-glass opacity(GGO) tumors in lung on CT images have been studied for some years, there is not a large database for such images for the doctors and scientists to study and train. A medical database is built for CT images of lung GGO tumors in VIMS lab. The segmented lung tumors associated with comments and keywords to describe the shape, state and related information of the tumors from the doctors will be learned and used to category, diagnose and predict the GGO tumors. This database will not just help the researchers to design and test their algorithms on GGO for different purposes, but also the doctors to learn and categorize new tumor images.
