WindowsRaidInstructions are for Windows 7; References from this guide:http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/36504/how-to-create-a-software-raid-array-in-windows-7/ The windows installer does not have advanced options for things like Raids. Have to install the system first, and do the raid post-install.
This gives you options for disk management. It looks similar to other disk management tools(gparted, diskutil) You'll have to delete any volumes on the "to be raided"(slave?) disk. The master disk is probably disk0, given a default install, this will have your C: partition. You can't delete the volumes on this drive. Delete the volumes on the OTHER disk, make sure it's empty. Right click the C: partition on Disk0 and click "add mirror". Select the other Disk(the slave) as the target for the mirror. This will create the Raid. Windows doesn't call Raid "Raid", they call it mirrors, spanned volumes and something else. Mirror is most likely what we want. The mirroring process can take some time to synch. Let that finish and the raid should be complete. |
